Aside from the general Alexander directions, this book really emphasizes that life is an adventure and experiment. It’s not about getting things “just so,” but exploring choices to see how they play out. Although one uses considerable focus and attention to carry out the process, it’s helpful to be lighthearted and playful about it. I wish I could have met this lady, but this book will be a good touchstone.Product details

it's a very good book about alexander technique, but to appreciate it to its full extent, one must have allready taken quite a few alexander lessons.
Reading this book brought me back to my Alexander teacher training classes with Judith Leibowitz, in vivid detail. Kathryn Miranda has captured the narrative Judith provided as she conveyed the subtleties of the Alexander Technique through her highly skilled hands-on work. This book offers teachers the opportunity to hear Judy's wisdom and the clarity with which she communicated the concepts of the Alexander Technique, the art of teaching, and the use of the hands.
This is a wonderfully clear and concise exploration of the thinking at the core of the Alexander Technique, and of the insights and possibilities that can unfold under the influence of that thinking. I refer to select quotations from "Dare to Be Wrong" in my own AT practice again and again. Here are two I particularly like
“As a teacher, you pick up the moment before your brain has said, ‘Oh this is the moment.’”
“We are dealing not with the goal but the in-betweens that help us reach our goal.”
The price for this book on is inexplicably obscene. The book is in print and is available for a mere $26 plus shipping from the bookstore of AmSAT (the American Society for the Alexander Technique). Highly recommended.
