I loved reading Draw Me In. From the moment I read the blurb I knew I had to read this book. This book had me sobbing but I won't tell you when because you will have to discover that for yourself. Julie and Leo's love is a fun journey of discovery but also of heartache. With all great loves you can't have one without the other.

Julie Thornton is a art student with a love for Michelangelo's statue of David. Besides being a student Julie is also a mentoring teacher to teenagers and often takes these students to Art Museums in Italy to see other artists like Michelangelo. It is on one of these art excursions that changes Julie's life forever.

Leonardo "Leo" Carducci is a very successful VP at his family's Company Carducci Wines. Leo gives new meaning to tall, dark, and handsome. He hires Julie's best friend Ian (unbeknownst to them) to take some pictures of Leo for a magazine article that will be written about him. Leo and Julie discover what a truly small word it really is.

It is hard to say anything more without giving this story away and ruining it for everyone. It is so much more than boy meets girl and then they fall helplessly in love. It is about meeting ones soul mate, sacrifice, love, and friendship. On a scale from 1-10 I give Dram Me In a 10. I really enjoyed watching Julie and Leo's characters unfold and come to life. If you are looking for a story with great characters, laughs, love, and to know what it truly means to make a sacrifice then you need to run out and pick up a copy of Draw Me In. Leo and Julie are waiting to tell you their story.

Thank you Megan Squires for an amazing heartfelt romance. "Draw Me In" had me in stitches 80% of the book which I found myself laughing so hard that I had trouble breathing, I had to have my inhaler for backup at times ) True story....no seriously! Then the other 20% of the book I had to get the tissue box and reeses pieces out for comfort.

Julie captivated Leo's heart at the beginning of this story with her amazing talent of being an artist. She was the most graceless person and definitely had a word vomit syndrome with a lack of filter especially if she was even close to Leo, did I mention Hot, Swoonworthy, Italian Leo? Love it and recommending this book to read today. You will not be disappointed!

Well, that was pretty good, but unfortunately, I feel the same way about this book as I did about Squires other book (Rules of Regret). Squired books have SO MUCH good stuff going for them, but it's like reading a book/story that still needs some more tweaking and fine tuning. There were so many wonderful parts and lines, but it just needs some refining. Besides that, my other big frustration with this book and her other book is the copious amount of "internal dialog". I would probably say that about 75% of the book is internal dialog. In the end, I wish I would have had the time to read this book faster than I did, because it seemed to go on forever. But, I still liked the story that Megan Squires told. I especially liked the author's notes at the end of the book.
Julie, a talented art student and coffee house barista, bumps into a handsome businessman named Leo, while she's sketching Michelangelo's David in Italy. He steadies her and there's Instant attraction between them! After their brief encounter he disappears into the crowd. She finishes up her short stay and flies back to NYC and that's the end of it right? Of course not! It could have been sappy and predictable but instead it brought out a myriad of reactions within me including quite a few laugh out loud hilarious moments. I literally had to lay the book aside and laugh hysterically (a certain drunken toasting scene comes to my mind) while my husband shook his head as he turned up the volume of the TV! This moment of my hysteria lasted for several minutes much to his annoyance. I ended up leaving the room, much to his relief, and I must add, his encouragement. While there were laughs aplenty, you see Julie is quite the comedian, there was also a box of Kleenex ready for my tears, and those tears were not of joy. Because my emotions went on quite a wild ride and also because I found myself wishing for a friend like Julie, I just had to give this book a 5 star rating.
I started this book less than 24 hours ago. And now I wish it weren't over. I couldn't put it down for long, I was drawn in and fell in love with each character. Julie, the somewhat eccentric art student with a fascination with bodies (instead of buildings or inanimate objects as her subject matter). Leo--the heir to a "Wine throne" (and if you are in line to take over a winery, you should sit on a throne). Their meeting and subsequent relationship was hilarious and sweet and had a depth rarely seen. I loved this book.

It was very "G" rated, as another review mentioned. And it really takes an amazing story (and story teller) to express the depth of love in a romantic relationship without using sex as a tool. And I felt the depth of their love. Leo's secret--an interesting addition to the story and his speech at the end left me with tears in my eyes.

This is the second book I have read by Megan Squires and I feel like I could know her. Sometimes you can really get a glimpse into an author's personality by their writing style. Both of the books I have read have had quite philosophical undertones. She doesn't make common statements instead seems to really study her subject matter. She thinks deeply about life and love. IF I had to guess, I would say that SHE or someone close to her is a chatterbox. She always has a chatty character (at least in the two books I have read by her). Sometimes the chattering can be a bit much but I find myself highlighting and re-reading often.

I saw that her next book will be about Walker--which should be interesting, I wasn't sure I liked him at first but by the end, I really did.
